Our Story
☕ My Coffee Story — by Café Nieto
(A story about passion, culture, and community)
Chapter 1 – The First Taste
It all started with a simple curiosity — the kind that sneaks up on you and slowly turns into a ritual.
My earliest memory of coffee wasn’t about fancy machines or exotic beans. It was about connection.
Someone handed me a café cubano — strong, sweet, and rich — and I was hooked from the first sip. The aroma alone carried warmth and culture, the kind that felt alive. It wasn’t just a drink; it was a moment — a small piece of Latin tradition that made its way into my everyday life.
Before long, I bought my own moka pot, the same type used to make espresso shots. That little metal pot became my ticket to recreating café cubano at home. I started making one every day — big cups, strong shots, and plenty of sugar — until it became more than a habit.
It became a passion.
Each cup felt like a small celebration — a way to carry a bit of home, warmth, and heritage into every morning.
Chapter 2 – Lockdown and Espresso Dreams
Then came 2020 — a time when the world slowed down, but my coffee obsession only grew stronger.
Stuck at home, I decided to take things to the next level. I bought my first espresso machine — not a basic one, but a good entry-level professional model. I started learning about grind size, tamping pressure, and extraction time — everything that transforms coffee from good to unforgettable.
I sourced fresh beans, experimented with roasts, and practiced daily until I could pull that perfect shot — rich crema, balanced flavor, and just the right kick.
It became my therapy. My daily ritual.
While the world waited, I was busy building my dream — one espresso at a time.
Chapter 3 – From Passion to Purpose
As the months turned into years, my love for coffee became more than just a personal ritual — it became a calling.
Everywhere I went, I noticed how coffee connects people. Whether it’s the quick morning rush or the long conversations that stretch into the night, coffee is always there — quietly turning moments into memories.
I wanted to be part of that connection — to share the warmth, the craft, and the culture behind every cup.
Chapter 4 – Bringing It Home
This was the moment I decided to bring my passion back to my roots — to the Hispanic community that raised me.
I wanted to educate, inspire, and share what I had learned about coffee. From teaching others how to brew a good espresso at home to introducing the next generation to Café de Olla, my mission became clear:
To celebrate and preserve the flavors of our culture, one cup at a time.
That’s how Café Nieto was born — a dream fueled by passion, tradition, and community.
Café Nieto works with locally owned roasters who share our values of craftsmanship, freshness, and care. Together, we bring you coffee that tells a story — from our local partners’ hands to your cup.
Chapter 5 – Café de Olla: A Taste of History
“Café de Olla” has roots that go back over a century — to the days of the Mexican Revolution.
The Adelitas, women soldiers, brewed coffee in clay pots (ollas de barro) with cinnamon and piloncillo to fuel and comfort the troops. What began as a necessity became a tradition — one that carries the essence of home, warmth, and strength.
At Café Nieto, we keep that tradition alive. Our Café de Olla Mix blends cinnamon, piloncillo, and love — crafted to taste just like the ones made over a rustic stove in Mexico.
Every cup is a tribute to history — a reminder that coffee connects generations.
Chapter 6 – Growing Together with Our Community
As this story comes to a close, the journey of Café Nieto is really just beginning.
We’re here to continue bringing the very best coffee to our community — working hand in hand with local roasters, farmers, and coffee lovers — all united by the same purpose: to share the warmth and culture that coffee inspires.
We want to thank everyone who’s been part of this journey — for your support, your trust, and your shared love for coffee.
Together, we’re creating more than a brand — we’re building a community.
Because every cup we share is a piece of our story… and yours.
